Introduction to WordPress, the Content Management System and how it is used to create and maintain websites. The student will learn of the different components of WordPress including themes, plugins, pages, posts, categories, and tags among others.  The difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org will be discussed. Installation, configuration, and maintenance of WordPress websites will also be covered.

As an open source platform based on PHP, MySQL, and HTML, WordPress is highly customizable and is designed to be extended via plugins and themes. The student will learn how to leverage the various technologies to build their own plugins and themes.
